Historic Droitwich: Its Streets and People, the story so far more about our new Heritage Lottery Project

01 April 2015

Following a short AGM of the Droitwich History & Archaeology Society, Lyn Blewitt will give an illustrated talk about Historic Droitwich : Its Streets and People, the story so far.
In October 2013 the Heritage Lottery Fund made a £35,000 grant to the Dodderhill Parish Survey Project, to undertake a project looking at the oldest (timber-framed) buildings in the historic core of Droitwich and the people who lived in them. Working with both specialists and volunteers, it has concentrated on properties in the High Street and Friar Street with detailed building recording and dendrochronology undertaken, as well as documentary research. At the half-way point in the 3-year project, this talk will cover the results to date.
