Later prehistoric (Iron Age)
Small isolated farmsteads developed in Dodderhill during the Iron Age period – one site recently excavated, close to the motorway, revealed evidence of a number of round houses.
Nearby in Hanbury there was a hillfort, and in the present day Vines Park the brine springs were exploited to produce salt which was extremely valuable and traded over a wide area.
An Iron Age gold coin has been found in Dodderhill.
